VINNIE PAUL: 'If There's One Big Fan Of HELLYEAH, It's DIMEBAG'
July 15, 2010On July 14, HELLYEAH's Vinnie Paul Abbott and Greg Tribbett were interviewed on the Orlando, Florida radio station 101.1 WJRR. During the chat, Vinnie Paul and Tribbett discussed the band's second album, "Stampede"; how it is different from the group's debut; how the members keep the band's music separate from their other projects; some of Vinnie Paul's all-time favorite music; and how Vinnie Paul keeps the memory of his brother, late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, alive through the music of HELLYEAH.

As previously reported, Vinnie Paul Abbott has done a new interview with Decibel magazine in which he talks about his unusual habit of putting strange personal items up for sale on eBay. Among the items Abbott has auctioned off are his old oven and his first cell phone. Explaining his hobby, Abbott said, "That was just comedy, dude. Anybody who thinks I'm hurtin' for money and I did that for any reason other than just for the fun of it is crazy . . . it was hilarious how much press coverage it got. The (oven) didn't even work, and I wound up getting $1,000 for it. The guy drove down from Seattle in his truck to pick it up, and I autographed it for him."
But Abbott's next possible sale is even more bizarre. He explained, "I'm seriously thinking about putting my toilets up there. My new house I bought in Vegas, I didn't like the toilets it came with. They were kinda old-school and small and had those wooden seat caps, so I replaced 'em all. And now I've got three toilets from my house in Vegas that I'm about to throw on eBay. I can't wait to see the shitstorm that causes!"
The full interview with Abbott can be read in the new issue of Decibel, on newsstands this week.
HELLYEAH's second album, "Stampede", arrived in stores on Tuesday (July 13).
